FEMA: Register even if you are uncertain

If your area was affected by a disaster, FEMA officials suggest you register for disaster assistance available even if you are not sure you qualify. This statement comes in response to nearing deadline in Cullman County, Alabama, where FEMA’s Nate Custer told the Cullman Times, “…Even if you are uncertain if you need or qualify for assistance, it’s important to register.”

In case of flooding, call a professional

Spring floods are all too common in many parts of the United States. It is difficult and expensive to prevent a body of water from flooding, and it can be just as hard to recover from a flood. The flood cleanup process is expensive and can pose a risk to your health if you are not careful, particularly around electrical equipment.

Are you prepared for a tsunami?

It was the middle of the night in the U.S. when the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan occurred. Many did not learn of the devastating event until after they woke up and saw the morning news. Residents in western coastal towns awoke to tsunami-warning sirens in the early morning and immediately fled to higher ground.

Los Angeles & Ventura Counties Issued a Flood Warning

Southern California is expecting to be hit by another round of precipitation after Thursday’s showers already drenched Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Yesterday’s weather events dumped as much as 2 inches of rain in some parts of the valley.
