South Texas: Flood Clean-Up Begins

South Texas residents are wading through knee-deep muddy waters to assess the extent of the damage done to their property by the winds and rains brought by Hurricane Dolly. Despite the pain of recovering from the disaster, residents are saying they are glad that the storm didn’t take many lives and that levees held their ground. Insurance professionals estimate the loss in the south Texas area at around $750 million.

Nebraska: Residents Encouraged to Register With FEMA For Aid

A federal disaster declaration made by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on June 20 makes available disaster assistance for 13 Nebraska counties where home and business owners were devastated by flooding and tornadoes over the past two weeks.

Wisconsin: Residents Urged To Clean Up Quickly

On June 14, counties in Wisconsin were given natural disaster relief from the federal government after storms, tornadoes and flooding destroyed major sections of the state. Residents in the Columbia, Crawford, Dodge, Green, Milwaukee, Racine, Richland, Sauk, Vernon, Washington, Waukesha and Winnebago counties may all be eligible for federa aid from FEMA to help restore homes and businesses after this tragedy.

West Virginia: Flooding Ravages State

West Virginia has now been added to the list of states receiving Federal funding for disaster relief associated with the severe flooding taking place throughout the midwest. Today, the president declared West Virginia a major disaster area and approved federal aid to help families and businesses recover from the damages associated with the tornadoes, flooding, mudslides and landslides that affected the area June 3-7. The funding will be made available to individuals in the following counties:

Indiana: Major Disaster Declared in Indiana

Federal disaster aid has been approved for Indiana to supplement state and community recovery efforts after severe storms and flooding have ravaged the area since June 6, 2008. President Bush declared the area a major disaster on Monday and FEMA has followed with a plan for funding and eligibility.
