Indiana: Major Disaster Declared in Indiana
Federal disaster aid has been approved for Indiana to supplement state and community recovery efforts after severe storms and flooding have ravaged the area since June 6, 2008. President Bush declared the area a major disaster on Monday and FEMA has followed with a plan for funding and eligibility.
The new federal Aid program for Indiana directs FEMA to provide 75% of the funding for the costs of emergency measures taken to save lives, protect property and public health.
