Getty Center Evacuated

The Getty Center was evacuated today because of a nearby 80-acre brush fire that broke-out this afternoon. People within the art complex were evacuated, including 800 employees and over 1000 visitors. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. The Getty Center in Los Angeles features architecture, Western art from Europe and the United States, and manicured gardens.

Ron Hartwig, a spokesperson for the Getty Center, reported that the ventilation systems were shut down to prevent smoke damage.
